Our Story

ZenPaw started with our own dog.

We are Romain and Elodie, the co-founders of ZenPaw. Before there was a brand, a bottle or a formula, there was Milo, our rescue dog, and months of watching him lick, scratch and struggle to settle comfortably.

We did not set out to build a pet wellness company. We set out to create the product we wished we had for our own dog.

Why We Started

We knew the problem because we were living with it.

Milo's paw licking started slowly. Then came the scratching, restless nights and the constant feeling that we should be able to do more for him.

Like most pet parents, we tried different approaches: food changes, shampoos, fish oil and supplements. Some helped for a while. None gave us the consistency we were looking for.

The more we looked into it, the more our focus shifted. Instead of only asking how to calm the scratching, we became interested in supporting the skin barrier itself and what it needs to stay healthy.

That question became the starting point for CoatRestore®.

How CoatRestore® Was Created

We created the product. We brought in the expertise to formulate it properly.

Our role was never just to have an idea and put our name on a bottle. Our experience with Milo gave us a clear brief for what we wanted CoatRestore to be, what it needed to support and what we were not willing to compromise on.

We rejected ready-made bases that did not fit that brief and worked directly with professional formulators to turn our product direction into the formula that became CoatRestore.

We created the product around the problem we knew firsthand. The specialists brought the formulation expertise needed to build it correctly and consistently.

ZenPaw is still independent and founder-led, and we intend to keep it that way. It is what lets us stay involved in the products we develop, the feedback we receive and the conversations we have with pet parents every day.

When you write to us, there is no distant support department between you and the people behind the brand. One of us reads your message and one of us answers.

We started ZenPaw because we wanted better for our own dog. That remains the standard we use when deciding what deserves the ZenPaw name.
