I grew up surrounded by animals.

Dogs, cats, ducks, guinea pigs, goats, donkeys. At any given point in my childhood, our home had more animals than it probably should have. Nobody planned it that way. It just kept happening, because when an animal needed a place, we made room.

That upbringing shaped how I think about animals. Not as pets in the background of a human life, but as a real responsibility. Something you take seriously.

When I built ZenPaw, that didn't change. CoatRestore exists because I believe the health of your dog or cat deserves the same attention you give your own. But I also knew from the start that a brand built around animal wellness had to do more than sell supplements.

A lot of animals never get the chance to have a home at all.

    Why Humane Canada

When I started looking for a charity partner, I wanted something credible, transparent, and national. An organization with real reach across Canada, not just one province.

Humane Canada has been working on animal welfare since 1957. They support 45+ member shelters across the country. They're accredited by Imagine Canada, which means their finances and governance meet independent standards. When I reached out to them directly, the fit was clear.

This isn't a marketing badge. It's a commitment I wanted to make from day one, before ZenPaw had its first customer.

    How it works

When you place an order on zen-paw.com, you'll see the option to add a donation at checkout. You choose the amount: 3%, 5%, or 10% of your order.

ZenPaw collects those donations separately from revenue. Every quarter, 100% of what was collected gets transferred directly to Humane Canada. No deductions, no platform fees absorbed by the charity.

The first transfer is scheduled for July 2026. Every transfer after that will be logged publicly on our Supporting Shelters page so you can see exactly what was collected and when it moved.

One thing worth being clear about: ZenPaw is not a registered charity. You won't receive a tax receipt for a checkout donation. If you want a tax-deductible donation, you can give directly at humanecanada.ca.

    What this means for you

When you buy CoatRestore for your dog or cat, you're already investing in their health. Adding a donation at checkout means that same order helps a dog or cat somewhere in Canada who doesn't have a home yet.

You can see ZenPaw's listing on the official Humane Canada partners page at humanecanada.ca/en/shop-for-animal-welfare/shop-our-partners.

I grew up believing animals deserve to be taken care of. That's why CoatRestore exists. And it's why this partnership does too.
